Firefox crashes on startup every time after between 10 and 30 seconds, sometimes first locking up. It started suddenly, crashing during a session that had been in progress. I've tried restoring session, starting new session, closing all tabs quickly, and starting in safe mode with all the above combinations, and still no luck. I've also upgraded to 9.0.1 from (I believe) 8.x, but still no luck.

Hi mikebkatz, please, try and follow the tips for Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly). Let us know, how you are getting on.

Hi Wrestler,

I actually tried everything I could on there already to no avail. However, when I started up my computer just now (from shut down, as opposed to from restarting before) after getting home from the office, FF seems to work without issue. No idea what caused it originally or what may have changed since the repeated crashes, though. Thanks for the advice none the less.

I've tried all the suggestions. My firefox 9.0.1 locks up after 30-60 seconds. Closing it only works using the "X". The file/exit menu is locked. Then it won't open unless I open the task mgr. and end process. If I use file/exit before it locks up, It will open normally. I had no problems with FF

It locked while editing my reply. I was adding the last sentence. It should read "I had no problems with FF4" I had to use task mgr. to exit.
