Is it possible to customise the Firefox Button, and if so, how?

I like the set up with the Firefox button but find I have to go into options and add the menu bar just for tools (which I do often use). I don't like keeping the menu bar showing as it takes up too much space on the screen. Is it possible to add the functions from the menu bar to the Firefox button, and if not, can I suggest this as a future feature, especially as some of the functions from the menu bar are already on the Firefox button. As there is plenty of space perhaps put all the menu bar options in the Firefox button and get rid of the menu bar completely!

There is an add-on to personalize the Firefox button. I have not installed/used the add-on. If you are adventuresome, here it is:

"I still stand by the idea of putting all the menu bar menus in the Firefox button for us non-keyboard shortcut users. How about it Firefox?"

We are all uncompensated volunteers here to help other Firefox users. The decisions about the items in the Firefox button were made by the developers and your question about that will likely not be heard by the developers by posting it in this forum. Maybe the above add-on will solve the problem for you as long as the developer of the add-on keeps supporting and updating it.

You can still use/see the Menu Bar (File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help) if you prefer it:

  • Temporarily display the Menu Bar: press the ALT key or the F10 key and make your selections from the temporarily displayed Menu Bar
  • Toggle between the Menu Bar and Firefox button. Do one of the following:
    • NOTE:
      • Menu Bar checked = Menu Bar on, Firefox button off
      • Menu Bar un-checked = Menu Bar off, Firefox button on
    • keyboard shortcut: HOLD the ALT key while pressing the letters VTM on your keyboard
    • Using the Menu Bar: click View > Toolbars, click Menu Bar
    • Using the Firefox Button: click Firefox Button > Options, click Menu Bar
    • right-click on an empty space in one of the toolbars, click Menu Bar

Thanks for that, I didn't know about the simple keyboard keys (never could really get into keyboard shortcuts, suppose you either do or you don't!), but I still stand by the idea of putting all the menu bar menus in the Firefox button for us non-keyboard shortcut users. How about it Firefox?

Again, thanks for that, that is perfect, exactly what I wanted. Please don't think what I said was in any way a moan, just an idea for a future feature. I do know the people that develop Firefox do it more for the love of doing it, I wish I had the brains and time to help.
