Removing "Bookmarks" pull down menu from Bookmark Toolbar (4.0)

The new 4.0 version adds a "Bookmarks" pull down menu to the Bookmark Toolbar. I tried dragging it off the Toolbar in "customize toolbar," but it doesn't go away. Please Help!
