I have a problem with a greyed out Java console and other problems with Options crashing FF. Narrowed it down to 'Remove outdated Java files from the browser plugins folder'. The question is how to remove the individual outdated items from within the plugin? I have the FF3.6.3 and the latest JRE freshly reinstalled.

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== I upgraded to FF 3.6.3

Hi. Many thanks for the above but after uninstalling the console I still get FF feezing and crashing when I click on Options/Security/Exceptions. Error message is something like 'A script is busy or may have stopped. etc. There are other problems too but if Options don't work.... When I go to about:plugins I get a huge list of 30 or so old versions of whatever thay are called, under SE 6U 20, freshly installed a couple of days ago, ranging from v1.1.1 to 1.6.

I'm assuming this is the cause of the problem, but after reading all the KB stuff that I can understand, and spending many hours trying to deal with it, I'm still no wiser as to how to get rid of/uninstall the relevant un-needed parts of it. Of course I am here assuming that this is the problem...

I've been using FF for years happily without problems as a non savvy, normal user. As soon as I update to 3.6, whatever, all of a sudden IE starts to look tempting. And Chrome works faultlessly. I just want FF to work.

Attached is a screenshot of the about:plugin result. All enabled.
