For the past three months, when I start my computer in the morning Firefox opens by itself and more annoyingly it opens to MSN homepage. I don't have MSN installed. I've tried every trick recommended and it still keeps happening. NOT HAPPY

Chosen solution

As an experiment, could you change your default browser to Internet Explorer 11 before shutting down? This is to see whether the page opens in IE11 the next morning.

If it does, that would suggest there is something on your computer that wants to visit MSN and it will use whatever is your default browser to get there.

If it still opens in Firefox, then there must be something that is starting up Firefox specifically.

Windows has a number of ways this could happen. Microsoft has a program called Autoruns that compiles various categories of data across your computer. The most interesting section for current purposes is "Logon" but you also should check Scheduled Tasks.
