When I am typing on a website and hit backspace, the browser treats it like a back button. I would love to disable this feature.

My page also automatically scrolls sometimes, and I have to click back in the cursor block in order to continue typing. I am using Linux Mint 15, and an HP 2000 laptop with a touch pad. I have chosen the option in Linux to disable the touchpad while typing, but this has not resolved the problem.

Please try the following:

  1. Go to about:config
  2. Locate the browser.backspace_action string
  3. Change the value of this string to 2

This should disable the backspace button acting as a back button in the browser.
Please report back soon.
