hi happy new year

I have few suggestions. I know there is input but there are lots of same suggestions.

Please make pressing F6 focus on all text in the location bar when multiple tabs opened.

At the top left of this window there are firefox favicon and mozilla.org in light blue color. Please make this ssl identification color brighter as before.

And disable url highlighting. This is very much wanted.

Return the status bar please. It doesn't take much space of the screen but trimming the url is totally foolish idea.

"Please make pressing F6 focus on all text in the location bar when multiple tabs opened."'

F6 works for me, as do CTRL+L and ALT+D. Is it possible that an Add-on has changed that function? Try Firefox Safe Mode:

"At the top left of this window there are firefox favicon and mozilla.org in light blue color. Please make this ssl identification color brighter as before."

Not likely to change. It does change to a darker blue on mouse-over.

"And disable url highlighting. This is very much wanted."

The new behavior in beginning in Firefox 7 is to highlight the domain in the Location/URL/Address bar for easier identification.

Users can revert to the old behavior by setting browser.urlbar.formatting.enabled to false in about:config

  1. type about:config in the Location/URL/Address bar and press the Enter key
  2. if you see a warning, accept it (promise to be careful)
  3. Filter = browser.urlbar.formatting.enabled
  4. double-click on the pref in the lower panel to toggle it to "false" OR right-click on the pref in the lower panel and choose "Toggle" to toggle it to "false"
  5. close the about:config tab

"Return the status bar please."

The Status Bar is not likely to return. You can install the following add-on to get some of the former Status Bar functions back, including "small bar at the bottom of the screen that shows the progress of a page loading" (i.e., the Progress bar/meter). The Add-on Bar must be turned on. The add-on will also stop the showing of the "tooltip" type status loading text, and will, instead, show it in the Add-on Bar:

  • Turning on/displaying the Add-on Bar:
    • Add-on Bar checked = displayed; unchecked = not displayed
    • Click Add-on Bar to check/uncheck after doing one of the following
      • Firefox button > Options
      • File > View > Toolbars (if using the Menu Bar)
      • right-click in the empty space at the end of the Tabs Bar
      • ALT+V+T+A (toggles Add-on Bar on or off; i.e., checks/unchecks without clicking on Add-on Bar)
  • Status-4-Evar add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
  • After install and restart:
    • Open Customze window (Firefox button > Options > Toolbar Layout OR View > Toolbars > Customize OR ALT+V+T+C OR right-click in the empty space at the end of the Tab Bar and choose Customize)
    • While Customize window is open, drag "Status Text" (site URL when loading or on mouse-over a link), "Progress Meter" (page loading progress bar), and "Download Status" (download in progress and how many) from the Customize window to the Add-on Bar in the order and position you want them to appear. Then click "Done" button at lower right on the Customize window.

I think F6 works for you because you have not 2 or more tabs opened.

Thanks for url highlighting and status bar workaround which I know but many users want it the old way.

connor:

When replying on the forum, I have a minimum of 21 tabs open. I tested F6 with at least that many tabs open.

Did you try Safe Mode? Do CTRL+L and ALT+D work?

F6 focuses the first selectable element in the user interface.
If "Tabs on Top" is selected then the active tab is selectable, so the location bar is not selected.
First press F6 and then press the Tab key to set focus to the location bar.
You may need to press the Tab key several times if there are other elements that can have focus.
