Firefox doesnt open links from external applications (like PDF or Flash Apps)

I tried to open links from other applications and firefox just doesnt work. Its a big headache, because I am triyng to make it work and theres no easy answer. I am not a developer, I think Mozilla should fix this.

disabling and re-enabling the tab mix plus extension fixed this for me.
