Unable to uninstall Yahoo Toolbar 2.4.8.20120412011105

more options

I plugged in Magic Jack and it installed Yahoo Toolbar version 2.4.8.20120412011105 onto firefox.

The problem I'm having is that its not located in the remove programs list, or under extensions and add ons.

I followed the steps required to manually remove a plugin in about:plugins but it didn't show up there either.

I have googled all over and I can't find an answer, hopefully someone here can help me.

when the toolbar doesn't show up in firefox > addons > extension you can try to remove it manually from your profile folder.

go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information. in there click "show folder" next to the profile directory & close firefox. an explorer window should have opened up, navigate into the extensions folder and delete the file/folder that contains {635abd67-4fe9-1b23-4f01-e679fa7484c1} in its name & run firefox again.

in case the toolbar has still hijacked some search/homepage settings you can install the https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/ to get rid of them.

I have followed all of these steps without success, I wouldn't bother the forums unless I was truly stumped..
