Firefox and VeraCrypt
I use VeraCrypt (www.idrix.fr) to maintain a security folder which is encrypted and password protected. This folder is opened by VeraCrypt as a "disk drive".
When VeraCrypt is running, Mozilla freezes. Task manager shows Mozilla running at between 17% and 20% cpu. I am able to access files in this "disk drive" but if the mouse hovers over the VeraCrypt window I get the "circling" symbol.

hi, are parts of firefox or your user profile stored within this secure folder?
The secure folder contains bank statements, financial spreadsheets, etc. of a personal nature and is only opened when I'm checking bank statements or downloading them from my bank - which is unfortunate if I'm using Firefox! So, my answer, would be no.

Thanks for your help. The problem is reported there already (and with other browsers apparently). I've downloaded and installed the latest version of VeraCrypt and no longer seem to have the problem (fingers crossed). Thanks again.
