Restoring Bookmarks and Passwords
Hi,
I brought my computer to Best Buy for some audio issues it was having. They reset my OS and drivers and now I lost all of my Mozilla Firefox bookmarks and passwords. I do not have a recent JSON backup file. How can I recover these?
Thanks.

You need to copy logins.json (encrypted logins) and a matching key4.db (decryption key) to the current profile folder to restore the usernames and passwords.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
- Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile Folder/Directory:
Windows: Open Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data

Did they restore windows? Look for a folder called windows.old
They pretty much left everything up to me. I did manage to restore all of my bookmarks, which is a major relief. I just need to restore my logins. I found a JSON file called "logins" that has the 100+ logins saved, but I cannot figure out how to import the logins from the file.

I copied the logins.json file and a key4.db file to the current profile folder, but Firefox has failed to import the logins. I noticed that the key4.db file is from 2 years ago. I cannot find any other key4.db files, however. It's also strange that there weren't existing logins.json or key4.db files already in the profile folder, since there are 15 logins that populate Lockwise, which were saved from my mobile device.

Aha, I was able to get your solution to work. Note that when I searched for my profile folder within Firefox using the "..." menu, it took me to an erroneous profile folder. When I used the run screen to pull up the profile folders, it took me to the correct profile folder, where I copied the logins.json and key4.db files. That worked! Thank you so very much for your help!
