I recently updated Mozilla. SInce then the GOOGLE search page is the new face page when I enter Mozilla. I would prefer use MY YAHOO page, but everytime I change the setting to what I want the GOOGLE search page then returns when return to Mozilla. What Can I do?

You probably are familiar with how to change your "home" page by now, but just in case:

After you change the setting, if you open a new window using Ctrl+n, does it show your Yahoo page as desired?

If yes then I suspect some software is overriding your preference at startup, or changing it behind Firefox's back. This article describes some ways this can happen: How to fix preferences that won't save. Another common culprit is the "Surfing Protection" feature of the Advanced SystemCare software, and similar home page or browser protection features of other utility/security software.

If no then one of your extensions may be overriding your preference. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Does that help?
