Content disappeared

Hi, I use Thunderbird to recieve my emails and I save my emails on my mac but I see that the content of almost all emails from december 2023 to august 2024 is disappeared. The emails are not lost. It is only the content and the header? It is strange.

I have encountered the following issue about a year now .I have been using Thundebird some years now and I have created my contact list . Even though I have added in the address book all the contacts I needed and named them as I wanted. When I receive a mail the correspodent appears differently from what I have named the contact.Propably as the person sent me the email have named himself.The same applies in sent mails as well.No matter what I did ,it seems like the database from the address book is not linked to the mail database whatever I do. Please advise

help with restoring

I am checking i can back up and restore correctly. ( before a disaster and it is too let to test ) I have copied the TB file from appdata etc to a seperate drive to save… (saznaj više)

I am checking i can back up and restore correctly. ( before a disaster and it is too let to test )

I have copied the TB file from appdata etc to a seperate drive to save. When i completely remove TB from my pc and then download a fresh version , i copy the backed up TB file over to the appdata TB file. This seems to restore my old incoming emails , but it doesn't restore my old sent emails. Any advice on what i am doing wrong guys ? TIA PS im using pop3.

We have had our sympatico.ca account for decades, but have recently created a gmail address as we will probably leave Bell, for a number of reasons, and I understand that we will then lose all remaining sympatico emails. We recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird, but my guess is that we will no longer need Thunderbird, and gmail will be easily transportable, though it has some rather distasteful features, limited storage being one. My question is, is there a way to migrate the emails away from Bell and retain them. This doesn't seem to be a strictly Thunderbird question, though I'm sure it has arisen numerous times in the past. Hallo und guten Tag,

ich habe für Windows [PC] und Android [Pixel 8pro] jeweils die beiden aktuellsten Versionen von 'Thunderbird x64'und 'Thunderbird: Free Your Inbox' installiert und eingerichtet. Es sind zwei E-Mail-Konten mit jeweils einer Alias-Adresse eingerichtet, alles unter GMX.NET , IMAP+SMTP sind ebenfalls aktiviert [IMAP port993 und SMTP port465]. Leider bekomme ich es nicht so eingerichtet, daß Mails wenn sie am PC oder am Pixel empfangen und verschoben oder gelöscht oder als Spam markiert sind, daß dieses dann auch am jeweils anderen Endgerät so erscheint. Es werden immer wieder alle Mails neu als eingegangene Nachrichten gezeigt und ich muß dann am jeweils anderen Endgerät die gleichen Aktionen vornehmen.

Wo liegt der Fehler, was muß ich tun um das Problem zu beheben.

Hi Thunderbird-Team, I am using Thunderbird 128.5.0esr (64-Bit) on Linux (openSUSE Leap 15.5). When I want to attach a file to a written e-mail the file-selection dialog does no longer offer a line-edit-control where I can copy-paste an absolute path to the attachment file. I always have to click through the full directory path in order to specify the file that should be attached. Is there any chance to input a file path via keyboard or just by mouse-paste? Thunderbird puts a LOT of my mail into Junk/Spam boxes and I am missing some important stuff. Rather than go hunting for stuff I missed in other mailboxes, I'd rather deal with them as they come in. I've checked online and turned off everything I can find to prevent the Junk filters from working, but stuff is still showing up in Junk/Spam filters. What do I need to do to turn it ALL OFF? I use Thunderbird to download my email to my laptop (MacBook Air). I have 4 different email accounts that get downloaded -- 3 use POP. One uses IMAP. It is set up correctly with port 993 and security SSL. When I click on an IMAP message in my inbox, it opens blank, except for the subject line in the frame of the email. Sometimes it will fill out, but sometimes, especially lately, the blank message just sits there, taunting me.

I can read and respond to the message if I log onto the email server in a browser (Firefox, if it matters) but I want my messages on my laptop. I tried to switch to POP to see if that helps since my other 3 email servers work fine, but I can't make that work either. Thoughts? Thank you!

Incidentally, I do not need to save all my messages on my server. I'd be happy to delete them after a couple weeks, but I can't seem to make that happen either.

I have looked for hours on your site on how to get thunderbird sending emails, I have attached this to my outlook account and used all the correct IMAP/Port/Server settings that are displayed.

For some reason when I go to send an email, it says to me that "login to server smtp.office365.com with username ****myusername**** failed" THEN it says "Unable to authenticate outgoing server (SMTP). Please check the password & verify the 'Authentication Method' in account settings, Outgoing Server (SMTP)" I have done all the above multiple times, I have even tried other settings, and it STILL DOES NOT WORK.

I would greatly love some help with this as it is now becoming very tasking and frustrating. Please can someone help me out ASAP as I would love to start making use of Thunderbird.

Somehow, I now have a duplicate email account. Changes to either one are reflected in the other account. So if I delete one, the other one will be duplicated. Also recently, each received email is duplicated.

I can live with each duplicated email but would like to get rid of the duplicated account.
