I have 4 PCs have FF24 and Java 7u45 installed on WinXp sp3.

As expected, three of my PCs have Java set to "Always Ask" with the warning about safety. That's fine.

One PC has Java plugin and Java Deployment Tookkit set to "always activate" in the add-ons manager settings. The only other option for both is "never activate".

How do I set this to the safe setting of "always ask"?

I've dug around in about:config but cannot see anything obvious. And the about:permisions settings don't do anything to fix this.

You only see "Always Ask" if click-to-play is enabled.

You can set the plugins.click_to_play pref to true on the about:config page.
