I've had the 'this connection is untrusted' message when trying to go to Google or Amazon and others. If I add an exception the page doesn't render properly - no images appear, just text. I get a similar issue when trying to access Mozilla Help, although I don't have to add an exception. The page renders as black or blue text on a plain white background. Interestingly the Mozilla help page is headed: "Tap here to go to the mobile version of the site. Your Firefox is out of date and may contain a security risk! Upgrade Firefox" although I'm using v23.0.1, which is the latest version. I've tried clearing the cache, deleting history, resetting Firefox, re-installing Firefox, switching off the firewall, creating a new profile. I'm using Firefox with the default theme, with no add-ons or extensions. My OS is Windows 8 64bit.

yes, this looks like kaspersky is interfering and injecting its own certificate that isn't properly implemented into https://-connetcions.

you might want to disable the scanning of encrypted connections within kaspersky: http://support.kaspersky.com/6271

hello FinkNottle, first please make sure that the date & time is set correctly on your system. if this doesn't solve the issue (or it is already set porperly), could you tell us which error code is shown under technical details on the error message and when you inspect the certificate which issuer information it does contain (see screenshot)?

thank you

Hi, the date & time are correct. I've attached a screenshot of the untrusted connection message I get when trying to log on to a bank (is Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 the problem?) and when I go to Mozilla Help and Amazon (I don't get the 'untrusted connection' message, the pages just don't render properly now.

hello FinkNottle, try out what philipp has stated above. Sometimes slow net connection over WiFi also causes the problem. So try to Disconnect your wireless from your Laptop or PC and then connect it after a while. Then open your desired page.
