constant request to install firefox-patch.js
An "Urgent Firefox Update" pop-up is getting more aggressive almost daily. And it has become so much more imposing that now it auto downloads whether I want it to or not. I spent nearly 3 hours the other day using 2 malware checkers and my AVG virus program trying to delete the offending file. Had to go into safe mode to finally rid this 'firefox-patch.js' that appears to be a trojan. This has become a serious issue because it now re-appears as soon as PC system is restarted. Mozzilla has to address this apparent dangerous trojan once and for all. Otherwise I for one will remove Firefox from my system altogether and stick to Win IE. (Not that it has issues also, but it looks like a safer bet for now). And by the number of inquiries this seems to be rampant amongst Mozzilla users.

hi, this is a scam tactic that is trying to trick you into installing malware, so don't download or execute this kind of stuff just because of a popup or redirect on a website! updates are handled automatically by firefox so you don't have to download anything for that (and you can always initiate a manual check for updates in the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > about firefox).
we suspect this is coming form "malvertising" (=ads placed on legitimate websites that redirect you to this fraudulent message), so using an adblocking addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ would also help with that.
