Web Sites do not load. Most times I have to "try again". Also some sites load improperly, or freeze.

I have a newly installed DSL Most times when I try to go to a website, I get a message that Firefox can't find it. But it immediately loads when I click on "Try again". It's as though there is not enough time for it to load. Happens often, even with "Yahoo" or "mail".

The second problem is that The computer freezes on some web sites, forcing me to go out of firefox & start again.

What is the solution?

Wow, this problem has been around for over a year?!?!?!?!

What crap. If IE didn't SUCK so bad I would go back to it, but firefox is the next best thing I guess.

However - EVERY link I click on I get this, (see image) and I must click "Try Again" several times to get the page to load. I've been through all the self help crap and non of it works. This is a long standing problem with Firefox and needs to be corrected.

No problems here with http://www.waytekwire.com/products/

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Also check for DNS issues and any advanced settings in the firewall for Firefox.

Thanks 6109, but none of that worked either. It's not just certain sites, it's every site.

But some info here helped,https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/930062 although not getting rid if it completely.

Did you also have a problem with the DNS servers or did resetting Firefox (i.e. a new profile) work in your case?

Not I sure I understand your question. Resetting Firefox did absolutely nothing, but changing to Google public DNS seemed to be the best solution. My previous DNS was set by my ISP and was automatic. Didn't have issues with it before.

This would happen on and off over the past few years, but after Firefox last up date it started happening on every web site, every day. it became really frustrating.

Does it help if you choose different DNS servers?
