Hello

1) Is it possible to change the "icons/boxes" of the pinned web pages on newtab? Currently it shows about 6 (3 across x 2)

2) Is it possible for newtab to behave more like my desktop e.g. I can drag and drop the new web pages to any where I want in teh 6 slots. Currently it only allows me to drop in between 2 used slots, or at the end. I would like to leave a space slot.

3) Is it possible for newtab NOT to add recently viewed pages. I get bored of keep deleting these. I only want it to show my pinned web pages

thankyou for your help

You should be able to drag any bookmark or history item to one of the tiles on the about:newtab page to pin this item to that tile. Opening the sidebar is usually easiest. You can also frag the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar to a tile. You can hover the tab with the about:newtab page to switch to that tab. You can drag a tile to a different position to change their order.

Changes made manually on the about:newtab page are stored in prefs that you can find on the about:config page.

  • browser.newtabpage.pinned stores websites that you have pinned to a tile.
  • browser.newtabpage.blocked stores websites that you have removed by clicking the X button in a tile.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
