I logged on to the website to enetr my data to the census for Canada and was advised that I needed to enable javascript, and it said for Firefox 4 go to tolls/options to do that. Now with the new format I have for Firefox,I cannot find a link to tools or options, or File/print either. Perhaps I inadvertedly erased a toolbar.

Do you have the Menu Bar showing? If not, you probably have it hidden and you should see a Firefox icon instead. Press ALT key on your keyboard to show the Menu bar. If you want to have the Menu bar shown, while the Menu bar is shown, go to: View > Toolbars and CHECK the Menu Bar.

Tools option should be shown in the Menu bar.

You can also access Options via the Firefox button: Firefox > Options

Also make sure that extensions aren't blocking JavaScript.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
