Im actually doing this for my girlfriend. Whenever she opens a tab in Firefox, it opens multiple tabs. She doesn't like this and it is getting her frustrated. I've checked the mouse and its not double clicking or anything plus when you try to click on the menu its more of a click and drag down to the option you want instead of the normal click and click option I'm use to. If you can, please help

What is the value of the browser.newtab.url pref on the about:config page?

You can open the about:config page via the location bar.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
