Firefox will not open and displays Moziila Crash Reporter message every time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program but same problem. I cannot start Firefox in safe mode (depressing shift key when attempting to start) and get the same message. However I did get Firefox to start when I had Windows 7 in safe mode. Tried recovery step but this did not solve problem when Windows 7 subsequently operated in normal mode. Prior to the problem I was having occasional problems with Firefox apparently running in the background and when I tried to launch the program I was told it was already running. It was necessary to reboot the computer to get round this problem.

I should be very grateful for some advice

edit: corrected crash id (philipp)
