Why does it take two attempts to close a 2nd window of tabs?

If I have two FF windows open, the first closes with the upper right x. The 2nd one ignores when I ask to x it, but does close when I click that x again.

I have it set to ask before closing multiple tabs. I have tab groups as part of both windows.

I assume it's a new bug.

Currently problem seems to be gone.

Must have been a bug that's now fixed.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

In safe mode it closes the first window correctly by asking about closing multiple tabs.

It then closes the 2nd window without double asking... but it leaves off asking about closing multiple tabs.

So the problem is gone but it's still showing a problem.

So one of the add ons I added recently must have introduced the problem. I'll have to step through them at some point. However, there's some sort of inherent FF problem with that 2nd close. (That might be why the addon isn't working correctly with closes.)

Interesting...

Thanks Cor-el for the alternate ways! The problem's disappeared. It's been a few FF updates since, so that's likely why. I don't remember if I tried alternative quits at the time or not. Probably didn't think to.
