Trying to go back to version 3.6 but deleted 4.0 before I saved favorites folder

I read online that Firefox 4.0 has several bugs still, and I just changed to it over the weekend. I decided I wasn't ready for 4.0, I like 3.6 better. I did some looking online and found that I could just delete 4.0 and re-install 3.6. However, I deleted 4.0 before I saved my favorites folder. I tried doing a system restore from a few days ago, but that didn't work. First I want to get my favorites folder back, then I want to re-install version 3.6 if I can. If I have to stay with 4.0 I'm sure I'll get used to it, but my favorites folder is most important right now!

If you used the default options when you uninstalled Firefox it would not have deleted your bookmarks (favorites). They will be available when you re-install Firefox 3.6.

If you selected the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" when uninstalling Firefox it would have deleted your bookmarks. The best chance of recovering them would be using a file recovery utility such as Recuva. Using that utility you can see if you can recover any file with the name bookmarks-yyyy-mm-dd.json (ideally one with the most recent date), if you can recover one of those files you can use the method in the second part of the following link to restore that file - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+and+restoring+bookmarks

I downloaded Recuva and ran it, but did not find any files (recoverable or not) with a name starting with bookmarks. Any other ideas?

I did accept the option to remove personalization, realizing immediately after I hit the "ok" button (or next, or whatever it was) that that was NOT what I wanted.

Still hoping someone can help..
