I have restarted FireFox 52 ESR in safe mode the problem continues. Nothing happens when I click on the store location drop down arrow. Hardware acceleration is also off. No plugins running and cache has been cleaned. No functionality when clicking on the down arrow.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

What specific button is this about?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
  • check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
  • "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer

For now, since that dropdown 'Find a Store' doesn't work, you could use this link :

https://www.lowes.com/store/

But hopefully the problem will be fixed after you've tried the suggestions that FredMcD and cor-el gave you ......

Screen shot attached. I restart the browser with addons disabled to eliminate that as the possible cause. The shield icon is not on as the screen shot shows. Nothing happens when I click on the highlighted hot section.

That link is not a button that opens a drop-down list for me as well. Clicking opens opens the above posted store link (https://www.lowes.com/store/) that opens a map in the tab where you can zoom in to your location. It is possible that this is a recent change on the website if it worked differently before.

OK, once a store is select then I see the down arrow that opens a 'Find a store' pop-up where you can select stores in the vicinity.

Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection (not a problem here as far as I can tell).

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:

You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Manage Data

"Clear the Cache":

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> Cached Web Content: Clear

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

I have a store selected already and the arrow does nothing when I click on it. I assume that the source is in a frame because when I do "a get source" to see what the link is suppose to do I can't find the code. On hover I see that the link leads to "https://www.lowes.com/store/NJ-Flanders/1512" again but once I click on it nothing happens. I have already restarted the browser with add-ons off and in safemode, the issue is still there. So either its an issue with the ESR version of firefox or lowes.com coding. I tested the site on the normal firefox from another laptop and the click works.

Now if I open the site in private browser turning off my extensions, I can click and select a store. Once the store is selected I again can't click the link to change the store in the private session. Being its a private session no cookie corruption is possible since its wiped on close.
