When Firefox plays audio from a website it sounds like I'm in a concrete bunker with a slight reverberation.
The sound is very "tinny" with a slight reverberation. I checked the same websites with other browsers (Internet Explorer and Edge) and the sound is fine. CD playback is also fine. So that tells me the problem is Firefox. I even deleted Firefox from my computer and downloaded it again. The problem remains. This just started recently. Is there some setting in Firefox that changed?

Hi, what sound driver package are you using ? Realtek ? I would check in the controls (Audio Manager) and open the interface and see if the sound effects have been changed to bathroom or something like that.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
I not a computer illiterate but I don't know how to find the Firefox Audio Manager. Can you enlighten me? Firefox says I'm using speakers/headphones Realtek.
Hi, this has nothing to do with Firefox other than Firefox uses it/s settings.
You may have with luck on the Task Bar in Windows the Icon for Realtek HD Audio Manager and you would open that and check that the sound effects have been or not been changed by something/someone.
Try searching for Realtek with Windows Search and look for it to find the HD Audio Manager.
Search again and use key word Control Panel as there will be a icon in there also.
This has to be found to see if this is the issue. Or you will have to update your Realtek to install/update for another HD Audio Manager.
https://thewindowscentral.com/realtek-hd-audio-manager/ info also what it looks like once open it, download another.
I wound up downloading the original Realtek driver and the sound seems to be normal now. Thanks for the advice.
