Are you running Firefox 23 or 26, the troubleshooting found that you are using 26.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

You may need to create a new profile to prevent future issues when you downgrade from a Firefox 26 Nightly build to the current Firefox 23 release.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

I uninslled Firefox 23, and reinstalled it and had the same problem with bookmarks disappearing and constant freezing up of the browser. I am currently using Nightly without any problems.

can you create a new firefox profile and see if it works better there?

Did you check for problems with the places.sqlite file and see if deleting the places file(s) helped?

I will keep using Nightly for the moment then reinstall FF and see what happens. Thanks for all your responses.

i have lost my bookmarks twice after ff decided to update me this sucks now i can't find any of my stuff. sucks big time why don't they just leave stuff alone

Sorry you are having problems with Firefox, and your bookmarks.

I can assure you that Firefox is not supposed to lose bookmarks when it updates. I can also confidently say that most users do not lose bookmarks when Firefox updates. I certainly do not.

If you would like help and attempt to restore your bookmarks may I ask you to start a new thread of your own
