The latest update, 68.0 (64-bit), causes files that are being downloaded to not go to the correct location. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I have an application that processes files based on their extension and location. I set that application to look in my Downloads folder. I set Firefox to download to my downloads folder. However, after the 68.0 update Firefox is not placing Downloaded items into the Downloads folder. It is instead burying them under the logged on user's profile.

Hi mpage24355, I'm not sure whether --
under the logged on user's profile.
-- means the user's Windows profile (C:\Users\username\Downloads) or under their Firefox profile (C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profilefolder). Could you describe that in more detail?
Firefox 68 changed the way startup works in firefox.exe. To protect against unwanted DLL injections and to better protect against zero-day vulnerabilities, a launcher process runs Firefox with medium integrity (similar to a standard user) even if your regular user has administrative privileges. This could be affecting where Firefox is allowed to save downloads. This article has more information on other potential side effects: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/windows-administrator-launcher-process-error-fix
Sorry, it is burying them in the following path:
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\Temp
Okay, thank you for checking that.
Have you turned UAC down to the minimum setting ("Do not Notify")? This could be affecting Firefox's ability to use more privileged folders. Please check the article I linked to before: Drag and Drop errors with Firefox Launcher Process enabled and Windows UAC disabled - How to Fix.
That is not the case. The PC is running as administrator. It was working before this update. I now have 2 PC's that the issue is occurring one. Internet Explorer is not having an issue. I would use it but this application must use Firefox.
Hi mpage24355, even if you are logged in as an administrator on the PC, Firefox 68 will run the browser with lower privileges. If you haven't already, could you test the fixes in the article I referenced earlier: Drag and Drop errors with Firefox Launcher Process enabled and Windows UAC disabled - How to Fix.
By the way, I'm not sure what kind of file you are downloading, but do they save automatically or do you need to select Save in the download dialog?
