Do not know if you have a glitch or not but please do this : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

From the last upgrade, it will no longer open a NEW tab when I click on a link. Instead, it opens the link on the same tab I was on. I went to "Options" to see if my settings changed with the upgrade; but now I don't even see it as an option to choose.

This actually is normal. Unless the site specially codes the link to open in a new window -- which Firefox usually will divert to a new tab instead -- links open in the same tab. If you want to change that, there is an add-on:

After installing, make sure to visit its options on the Add-ons page to select when you want links to open in a new tab (e.g., only other sites, all sites).

The "Restore the last session" feature is no longer working well either. It will restore some windows (don't know what its parameters are for deciding which ones). I go to History, "Recently Closed Windows" and Restore All Windows but it doesn't restore all the windows or tabs of my last session. This feature is VERY important for me to remind me of unfinished work!

Firefox automatically restore all the windows that were open at the end of your last session. The problem is that nearly all of your windows were considered closed, and Firefox only remembers 3 closed windows by default. How are you exiting out of Firefox? For best results -- to not have any current windows be considered closed -- use the Exit command on the menu. Either:

• "3-bar" menu > Exit
• (menu bar) File > Exit

If you must close Firefox by closing each individual window, or you fear it might just happen, you can increase the number of closed windows that Firefox stores in session history so you have a better chance of restoring them:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo preference to display a dialog where you can enter the desired value -- I've increased mine from 3 to 10 just in case -- then click OK

As far as I know, Exit (and on Mac, Quit) always closed the application.

• I must be thinking way back when I was using IE. Clicking 'Exit' (under 'File') closed the current browser window.

• I'm holding on to version 61.0.2 for the moment until I save my Bookmarks as an HTM File. They're getting rid of the description field due to many not using it. Now I have to manage two sets of Bookmarks to manage my descriptions? (Sigh.)

The data is still present in Firefox 62-63 (even though it isn't visible in the Properties dialog or Library window). You also can extract it from a file in bookmarkbackups if you don't export it in time. I have a converter here:
