Setup special filter for certain whitelisted email but TB keeps moving in down below Spam Assassin even when the filter is set a #1. Why the move?

I have a white listed email address, [email protected], that keeps getting marked as Junk by Spam Assassin. This is even after I have repeatedly marked this email sender as NOT JUNK. So, I set up a special filter per the instructions. Then I moved this special filter to first in line. Then when TB updates or I close out TB for the day, the special filter gets moved back down below Spam Assassin and the email alerts start getting junked again. WHY DOES IT KEEP DOING THIS CRAP?????? I am tired of having to look in my junk forward all the time for emails that I am expecting!!!!

turn off the option Trust spam assassin headers in account settings.

You can not override the position the automatically created spam assassin filter gets. So you have only two options, disable the spam assassin option or put up with spam assassin getting it wrong.

1) Under Accounts "View Setting For This Account" then "Junk Settings" Spam Assassin is the default junk filter. 2) Under Advanced Features you then have "Manage Message Filters" you have Spam Assassin as the default "first" filter. Then you have the option of writing other filters to let certain email address and/or message content to pass. 3) Having Spam Assassin in the first position blocks the function of the special filter unless you move Spam Assassin down below the special filter(s). 4) This Message Filter function NEEDS a "SAVE" function added so that the order of filtering can be SAVED when the program is closed out for the day. 5) IT IS A ROYAL PAIN IN THE ARSE TO HAVE TO OPEN THE "MESSAGE FILTER FUNCTION FIRST THING AS SOON AS THE PROGRAM OPENS AND REORDER THE FILTER LIST BECAUSE YOU GUYS ARE NOT SMART ENOUGH OR ARE TOO LAZY TO ADD A "SAVE" BUTTON TO THE FEATURE!!!!!

The filter is created dynamically when the program starts, it is not a permanent filter to save anywhere. But as usual, those that do not know how it works are advancing incorrect assumptions quite aggressively without regard to the realities. Namely I can't change it and nor can anyone else in the forum. You have the answer as it stands to your question and the two options you have in using Thunderbird with SpamAssassin. That you do not like it is obvious, but it does not change the facts.

File a bug if you want the program changed. But before you do be aware you are not Robinson Crusoe. These related open bugs will give you some background before you file any enhancement request.
