Why doed the new versio (25.0) not have HOME,BACK,FORWARD options- most inconvenient
Using MacBook Pro and I guess my wife downloaded - or it was automatically offered - Firefox25.0. I use it more than she does. Not important. On my desktop, I have an older version and it works quite well. I use Firefox because numerous servers -especially career sites - do not recognize Safari. I find with the new 25.0, there is no option - usually placed under the "History" tab - for HOME. There are also no options for back and forward. Whose idea was this ??? IT makes for MOST INCONVENIENT negotiating, especially when you want to more to the home page and begin a new search, etc. I find it incredibly NOT USER FRIENDLY to have to do the control - command - back arrow just to get back to he home page. Also, your constant redirecting to one menu page after another just to find some level of assistance is intolerable. I STRONGLY suggest your tech design team rethink this and immediately return those options. I can assure you, if and when I get an alert to upgrade to the new version on my desktop, I will decline it - definitely .

Thanks for the reply but it was not specific to the issue as I am NOT using a Windows based platform - as I noted in the beginning. I have trouble accepting that HOME and BACK are not used. Nevertheless. After doing some other searching I found what should have been an easy answer. If Firefox 25.0 would respond to prompts in a timely fashion, this would have all been unnecessary. What ultimately solved the problem was to reset the Navigation Bar - which didn't even show the first several times - to the default settings. This then sowed the Home option as well as the back-forward arrows. The key is an updated Navigation bar - no matter what platform one is using and Firefox needs to get updating the bar to be easier and more timely for those other than Windows users -

Try to use JPG or PNG image file format and make it public view.
Some entries in the View and History menu have been removed to clean up the user interface because studies showed that these were low usage items (Bugs 519937,513168,896918; please do not comment in bugs).
On Windows and Linux these were already hidden when you used to mouse to access the menu bar and only appeared when you used the keyboard.
You can click the toolbar Home button (far right on Navigation Toolbar) or use the keyboard (Alt/Option + Home).
You can find Back, Forward, and Reload in the right-click context menu in the browsing area or use the buttons on the Navigation Toolbar.
