On certain sites the icons themselves or the graphic of the icon has disappeared. Wordpress.com blog and Tweetdeck are examples. Any advice on getting them back

All the graphics for the icons and some of the icons themselves have disappeared from my Wordpress.com blog toolbars. I just downloaded Tweetdeck and when I logged in for the first time the same thing is happening. Don't know how to upload a screenshot so you can see the problem.

That is most likely an issue with fonts downloaded via @font-face CSS rules.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

It is best to use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot and make sure that you do not exceed a maximum file size of 1 MB.

Then use the Browse .... button below the Post a Reply text box to upload the screenshot.
