Hi,

My Firefox profile was inadvertently deleted when I uninstalled Waterfox. I had a backup of all profile data from the day before, and restored that. Am running Windows 7, so restored Users > Username > AppData > Local > Mozilla and Users > Username > AppData > Roaming > Mozilla.

Since the restore, Firefox history no longer works - all past history is gone, and worse, no history of new browsing is created. Cookies and saved passwords were restored and are working correctly.

Any idea on how I can get Firefox history to work again?

Thanks!

Go to Tools, Options, Privacy and check that Firefox will field is set to Remember history. If it isn't configure it to do so.

If it is set to remember history your backups may be corrupted or may not contain the appropiate history database. Please do the above procedure an tweet me (see my profile) if the problem persists.

Bookmarks and history are both stored in the places.sqlite database. Have you noticed similar problems with bookmarks? Perhaps try closing Firefox and copying just that file over into your settings (profile) folder again. Make sure it is not marked "Read Only" at the Windows level.

Sounds that the copy of places.sqlite that you restored is corrupted.

You can try to check and repair the places database with this extension:
