I even after installing the add on to block pop ups I am still getting them. I have looked on your answers and that seems only to cover xp. My 14 year old was on the computer yesturday I was with her and on clicking on a scrapbooking download... up poped Jane with no clothes on asking if she wanted to chat? The link was geniue and so was the download I have checked my machine very carefully and have no malware, spyware or anything so please explain how this site just pops up http://meetgoodgirls.com/index.php?keyword=sparkstudio_uk_101 and how I can stop it. Now this and other pop ups happen everyday. I never had this problem with ie and will be switching back if you cannot solve this

My guess would be that you do have some malware or toolbar installed or that it is related to one of the sites that you do visit.

The popup blockers and settings try to prevent popups, but I wonder why you get them anyway. They are certainly nothing provided by Firefox

Newer versions of Firefox use a safer HTTPS search see http://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2012/06/07/new-firefox-beta-adds-security-features-and-new-developer-tools/ That may possibly improve the situation, and it is possible to install such a search toolbar in the firefox search toolbar top right.

I really dont have malware my machine is completely clean. I did the pop test site you suggested and 6 out of the 10 poped up. The only tool bar I have is a scrapbooking site one but I have deleted it and will see how it goes. Thank you for your help
