Printing with HP Photosmart C309 all-in-one printer in Windows 7
Inside my HP Photosmart C309 printer box was a sheet that said "The HP Smart Web Printing application is not supported in the Firefox web browser." Of course, I didn't know this until bought the product and opened the box. I use Firefox all the time and want to be able to print from websites like Ancestry.com or any other website. Sometimes it does print, but very very very slowly. It might take ten minutes for a page to print. But sometimes I get error messages on my computer that printing failed or that it's offline. Even after I get a printer failed message, it may still print if I wait long enough. Is there any solution to this problem? If I tell it to print in fast draft it sometimes works better. If it is not compatible with Firefox, are you working on solving that issue?? I don't want to have to buy another printer after I just bought this one in November. I have no problems printing Word or WordPad documents.

"The HP Smart Web Printing application is not supported in the Firefox web browser."
Misleading statement, like a lawyer wrote it - HP Smart Web Printing doesn't support Firefox. For some reason HP hasn't kept up with new versions of Firefox after the 3.5 version, and prior to that version the update to SWP for Firefox 3.0 and 3.5 came many months after those versions were released.
As far as the slow printing in Firefox, see if anything here helps you.

So what you're saying is that the problem is not with Firefox but with HP not keeping up with Firefox updates. So there really isn't a solution to my problem until HP updates its software to accept the new version of Firefox.
