Why can't I download the Amazon Assistant add-on for Firefox or install it?
I received the notification that Amazon Assistant is no longer compatible with your system so I followed the instructions and removed the add-on then used the "get add-ons" button to find Amazon assistant at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/?utm_source=discovery.addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=firefox-browser&utm_content=find-more-link-top&src=api and install it. Then I was informed that the download failed less than a second after hitting the button. I then clicked on the "learn more" button and was redirected to https://www.amazon.com/gp/BIT/ref=bit_v2_surl_a?bitCampaignCode=A0027. When I clicked the download button there, I was informed that the add-on was corrupt and couldn't be added. I have used Firefox for ten years or more and it is my preferred browser, but this may be a deal-breaker. I use the Amazon assistant to keep wishlists up to date for my rather large family, and if it is inoperable, I may have to switch browsers. Please tell me there is an easy fix for this.

Hi LimnedCerulean, there is a general problem with most add-ons at the moment. A critical certificate Firefox uses to verify their digital signatures has expired, and you need a new one to resume using or installing the affected extensions.
Please see this article for more information on the "hotfix" Mozilla made available yesterday, but which apparently didn't reach you in time: Add-ons disabled or fail to install on Firefox.
Also, Firefox 66.0.4 is expected later today with a fix if the interim hotfix doesn't come through.
