I using IDM add-on on my Firefox to download online videos but I googling for a way to prevent playing/loading videos while IDM detect them to download!! Can you help me that there is any tweak or add-on for this job? Computer specs: Athlon XP 1500+ (pre-SSE2) and 1.5GB RAM Regards unkn0wn

You can set this pref to false on the about:config page to prevent Firefox from playing media files via the HTML5 media player.

  • media.play-stand-alone = false

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
