'Recently closed windows' not grey, but doesn't open

When I try to open the 'recently closed windows' menu item, I get only a small empty box to appear. My previously closed windows do not appear in a list. Here is a picture. i.imgur.com/PV4Vwwn.jpg

Places Maintenance {web link} Allows to run Maintenance tasks on the database that drives Places, the bookmarks and history module behind Firefox.
