I am unable to insert emoticons into my e-mails even tho the function is enabled in tools!
Clicking on the chosen emoticon does nothing, and no smiley face of any kind appears in the mail. This is Thunderbird!

Right click the account in the folder pane and select settings. Under composition and addressing make sure compose in HTML is set to on.
