When trying to cler all browsing history at the location bar, although I follow the instructions to 'ctrl, shift, delete, some web pages remain stuck. Even if I highlight them one at a time and hit delete, they remain. What can I do to eliminate them?
When trying to delete web pages from my history at the location bar drop-down area, I do as Firefox instructs by hitting the 'ctrl, shift, delete' keys but some web pages remain. Even if I highlight each page and hit delete, they remain. How can I eliminate these web pages?
Chosen solution
Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks and those entries can't be removed from the location bar drop down list with the Delete key.
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.

Your suggestion is the same as hitting 'ctrl, shift, delete keys. This does not clear it all out. Let me emphasize that this did clear some out when I did it the first time but I have done this same procedure several times to no avail.
see in Changing your location bar settings and choose Nothing in location bar.
thanks again
I prefer to allow the location bar to keep my history but like clearing it out to allow the most recent web pages to appear there.

Ohhh I see. That explains their permanency. Guess I can live with that. Thanks.
If you do not want bookmarks to appear in the location bar dropdown, you can set that to show only history from Options > Privacy > Location Bar.
If you visit a bookmarked site then that site will become a history item and shows as such in the location bar drop down list.
