How do I stop flash banners that come across the screen when at a certain website
The website is seekingalpha.com.
As soon as I begin to read an article a flash banner comes from the lower right of the screen trying to direct me other similar articles. The banner may retreat in a few seconds, or I have to click it to go away.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
