I am unable to disable JQS, as firefox will not load and will only give the memory error when I uninstall and reinstall the sw.

You do not need to start Firefox to disable the Java Quick Starter, you can do that via the Java Control Panel (Control Panel > Java > Advanced)

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
