Basically, firefox only opens new tabs. If you click on anything in the side menu, nothing happens. Of course, I tried reinstalling the program. I also tried clearing cache, refershing firefox as it was suggested in help pages. I also tried starting firefox in troubleshooting mode but it crashed and won't open in that mode. Although it opens in normal mode.

  • Other browsers (Chrome and Opera) are working well.

I also tried starting firefox in troubleshooting mode but it crashed and . . . .

This report shows the browser was not in Safe Mode. Do you have any other reports from the last few days?

Basically, a Shutdown hang means something is not responding/closing properly.

Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address box.

Hi FredMcD, Thanks for your response. I tried typing about:profiles in address box but nothing happens. I followed the steps to manually delete profile.ini manually and restart firefox but that didn't change anything. I tried creating a new profile and it's the same so i deleted the profile name default release and still the same.

I'll get back to you if I can figure out how to find other crash reports. Thanks again for your help.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.
