What is your version of TB, and is it set as the default email program? Does the attachment have non-ASCII characters in the name?

Many thanks for such a swift answer but it didn't solve my problem. Firstly as a non technical person I don't know what is meant by "What is your version of TB",or what is meant by, "and is it set as the default email program?" or what "ASCII characters in the name?" means.

Select Help/About Mozilla Thunderbird to see the version. Press Alt key if the Help menu is hidden.

See this article about setting the default email client.

Does the file name have any non-English characters or accented characters etc.?
