For some unknown reason, every time I open Firefox, I get asked if I would like to make Firefox my default browser. Apparently, Windows 10 is defaulting back to Microsoft default settings every time I close Firefox, so when I open Firefox, Firefox asks me if I would like to make Firefox my default browser. Can someone help me with this?

Chosen solution

Thanks for your feedback. I did not need to do the repair system registry and files procedure. I first tried switching default browser to Edge. Then I restarted the device. Then I switched default browser to Firefox. Then I opened Firefox and did not get the pop-up asking me if I want to switch my default browser to Firefox. So everything is good for the moment. If I start getting the pop-up again, I will let you know so we can continue from this point. Thank you.

Hi, so you have opened Windows 10 Settings --> Apps --Default Apps and found Edge as the Web Browser set for Default. You then have clicked Edge and chosen Firefox from the list. Is that correct or not ?

Please update your Flash 28 as is a security risk. Flash Player Version: 29.0.0.140 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thank you for your feedback. No, I haven't done that because Firefox is already set as my default browser in Settings. Nevertheless, I get a pop-up asking if I want to make Firefox my default browser when I open Firefox. Help???

Hi, then please follow the previous post instructions to make Firefox the default browser in Windows 10. You need to tell Win10 Firefox is the default by the instructions given.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Toggling it again may make it pay attention. If it is not paying attention revert it to Edge. Then please follow this :

  • Repair System Registry and Files

Find the Dos Prompt or Powershell then Right Click and Run as Administrator then : Copy/Paste to Dos Window : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then hit Enter. Reboot when completed. Note : DISM goes up to Microsoft for new files.

Then after reboot toggle it again.

What does "You can use that fix registry at any time it is Windows 10 Command" translate into English, because I don't know what you are saying!!!!
