I downloaded Thunderbird 38 yesterday and since then I have not been able to read the writing of my emails.

I can see a little written detail on emails I have not opened but the minute I open an email all of the writing disappears. It is totally blank. This applies to every single email I have received in the past as well as new emails that have arrived since updating.

Can you please help me. It is my work email account.

Chosen solution

Sounds like you only download headers and have an imap mail account.

confirm: Are you talking about an IMAP mail account ?

Make sure you are in 'online' mode. There should be two blue screen icon far left in bottom status Bar. If it shows two black screen icon, click on it to change to two blue screen icon. Confirm you are in online mode.

Try refreshing the index: right click on a folder and select 'properties' click on 'Repair folder ' button and click on OK select another folder and then reselect the one you refreshed. Report on result.
