Select All (CTRL+A) does not select messages
Thunderbird 31.3.0 Windows 7 Pro - 64bit - English Swedish locale
Pressing shortcut CTRL+A or using menu option "Edit > Select > All" does not select any messages.
A custom "Select All" button created at https://codefisher.org/toolbar_button/toolbar_button_maker works fine as a workaround.
Anyone experienced this problem and know a solution?

After working with someone who had found that the search function had been mapped to ctrl+T instead of ctrl+F, I'd suggest you also install the keyconfig extension so you can see what keystroke it's supposed to be using. Perhaps some over-zealous localization has mapped it to another key?

However, I don't think that would explain the menu Edit > Select > All not working.
Does it work any better or differently in Safe Mode?

Keyconfig showed it using the right key (CTRL+A), but running in safe mode solved the problem.
I tested disabling all add ons, which made CTRL+A and menu option work, and then enabling them one by one, to find the offender. But that actually fixed the problem completely??
CTRL+A now works with all add ons enabled.
A bit weird, but I guess one of the addons somehow "locked" the functionality and disable > enable resolved the lock.
Installed extensions were
- FireTray 0.5.4
- gContactSync 1.1.2
- Lightning 3.3.2
- Provider for Google Calendar 1.0.3
I also had this problem; one day recently I noticed that cmd-A was not selecting anything.
Wowtip's suggestion (restart with add-ons disabled) worked for me as well. When I restarted again, with add-ons ENABLED, it all worked correctly again.
The extensions I had enabled before: Account Colors 8.2 Calendar Tweaks 6.1 CompactHeader 2.0.9 Extra Folder Columns 1.1.5 Lightning 3.3.3 Provider for Google Calendar
