Flipora comes up whenever I access firefox. So does a web search page. Stop it. I will stop using Firefox because of this. I use a mac with OS 10

When you're ready to use Firefox again:

Try removing the Flipora extension, or if that is not possible, disabling it, on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Command+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then check the list on the right.

Usually a link will appear to restart Firefox if that is necessary to disable/remove an extension. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Also, if needed, to reset your home page, search engine, and new tab page to their defaults, you can use this "one click" solution: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

If you prefer to do it manually, these articles should help:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste newtab and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the browser.newtab.url preference and enter your preferred page:

  • Page thumbnails (default) => about:newtab
  • Blank tab => about:blank
  • Built-in Firefox home page => about:home
  • Any other page => full URL to the page
Press Command+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?

You can remove it with the following instructions:

(1)pen Firefox on your Mac (2)Go to “Tools” (3)Scroll down to “Add-ons” and click on that. (4)On the left hand side, press on “Extensions” (5) Find their extensions, which is called "Discover the web with friends" and press on the remove button.

You’re set. Their blog also has some info on this http://blog.flipora.com/2013/12/06/how-to-uninstall-flipora/
