no longer able to see the 8 tiles frequently open--only 4 show now--must use the control/scroll to min tile size every time
With new version of firefox--not able to see the 8 tile view with each now tab opening--only 4 show now--have to use control key and mouse scroll to minimize tile size in order to see more tiles--used to be able to set it to 8 tiles and 8 tiles showed each time a new tab was opened. Basically I wan to be able to set the screen for 8 tiles not only 4 each time I open anew tab.

Hi, as you know, you can change the number of tiles on the New Tab Page by zooming in or out (Ctrl and + key, or Ctrl and - key).
If you want to keep the same zoom setting when clicking on a new tab: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down to browser.newtab.preload and double click on it to change 'Value' from True to False.
It is also possible in about:config to change the maximum number of tiles by scrolling down to browser.newtabpage.columns (or .rows), then right click > Modify, to set a new number in 'Value.'
As an alternative, you may like to try the add-on New Tab Tools.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

This seems to work--thanks a lot. Had asked IT guys at the university and no one knew this. Thx again.
