I only have two Add-ons, Ad Block and Facebook Container. Neither is working as of today, 12/20/21. If I click them they don't display information or options. Attaching a screen shot of what Ad Block looks like when you click it. Three colored bars, no functional buttons. If I click the Facebook Container icon it just opens an empty white square.

They are enabled, they worked fine yesterday, and I haven't changed anything. I tried deleting and re-adding the Ad Block. I tried a different Ad Blocker. Nothing works, as if Add-Ons are now forbidden.

It’s possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address box and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder

Linux: Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Directory. To its right press the button Open Directory.

Delete all extensions* files and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You may have to approve the updating once again.

Well, I didn't do this correctly, I guess. I managed to delete my profile and had to restore it. I am fine until I get to the part about deleting extension* and compatibility.ini files.

I see the compatibility.ini file. I went into the folder called extensions and selected the two files to delete and it deleted my entire profile. So I don't know how I messed that up but I don't want to try again.

I assume the issue is related to the newest update which seems to have yesterday's date. And I tried installing a different ad blocker (AdBlock Plus) and that one didn't work either.

BTW I am running WIndows 10.
