How do I stop the Troubleshooting Information tab opening everytime I start Firefox?
Hello,
AVG highjacked my homepage & search toolbar so I had to do a reset. Now the Troubleshooting Information tab is opening next to my homepage tab, how do I turn the Troubleshooting Information tab off so it doesn't load automatically please?
TIA

Check your settings;
Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Followed by;
Windows; Tools > Options Linux; Edit > Preferences Mac; application name > Preferences
Then General.
There are two settings;
- When Firefox Starts
When the browser is started, what do you want to display. Many of us choose Show My Home Page.
- Home Page
When a new page is opened, what do you want displayed.
- Use Current Page. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
- Use Bookmark
- Restore To Default. about:home shows a Mozilla page with tools.
You can use any of these that you wish;
about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),
or you can enter any web page or about: page you want.
Sorry perhaps I had not explained the problem very well.
I had already found out how to reset my home page, I just want to get rid of the second tab that keeps opening entitled Troubleshooting Information which is next to the home page tab.
TIA

Please read the instructions I posted and check the settings. Firefox can be set to open multiple windows / tabs on start up.
Download the Mozilla Search Reset {web link} This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up and then resets your search preferences and home page to their default values, and then uninstalls itself. This affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
Thanks for trying to help. I found the solution which is:
In the Home Page text box, replace all pipes (|) with %7C
replace all pipes (|) The pipes are how Firefox is told to open multiple pages.
